    Course De La Paix

In the Course de la Paix in earlier times , each rider in the race was looked after by a young boy or girl after each stage finish , they would give the rider tea and a blanket , the young helpers also wore numbers corresponding to their " own " rider in the race , eg if Hans-Joachim Hartnick wore number 56 , he was looked after by a young boy or girl wearing number 56.
    My question is :
Did these boys and girls have a special name ?
I`m thinking of the expression " Garcon des Course " or something similar.
    All info welcome.
This might be question for the German-speaking members of this forum

In each town is was a different boy or girl who was looking for the rider with his number (start and finish). There were waiting with a bag. In that bag the training, clothes, soap, towel and other little things. I have this information from Maurice Boeckx winner of the first stage in 1955. He don't know the name for this boys or girls but he thinks that there were members of the local youthorganisation.

Course de la Paix is one of the most unknown races. Anyone knows something about the riders who rode it? I know Szutkowski, Soukoroutchenkov, Ludwig and Piasecki, otherwise all others of modern age.

This is the best site on the Course de la Paix ,

                    http://www.ros.com.au/~mach/peace/peace-main.html

Lots of info on all the stars of the Peace Race.

The best site for a short history of the CdlP is the French-language Wikipedia site.

As far as I know there are no articles on the Course de la Paix on the Coups de Pedales site , only the race results.
The websites already mentioned are the only source of articles on the Course de la Paix in English and German. There are other online sources of info in Polish.
There is a lot of literature on the Course de la Paix , most of it is in German.
